Bethel Orphanage |
 |
The Mission at Bethel Orphanage is to create a home where abused and unwanted children can grow up feeling loved and accepted in a secure and stable environment. We believe that a sound educaton is a major key in breaking the cycle of poverty and ultimately leads to a successful, responsible, and productive life. Further we teach forgiveness and a victorious attitude allowing these children to fulfill their dreams and destiny in Christ giving them hope for a better future.

Challenges
Anyone can appreciate the challenge it takes to run a facility with one hundred children. Imagine taking care of children from all sorts of violent and abused backgrounds and how difficult it must be to give them a safe and inspiring home in the face of the incredible violence that surrounds them every day.

Overview
Bethel Orphanage was established more than 30 years ago when Josefina Valencia opened the door of her home to some children in need. She now takes care of more than 100 children on a two acre facility near Juarez, Mexico.
Josefina has dedicated her life to educating, loving and providing for the needs of countless abused and abandoned children. Since its humble beginnings the orphanage has won many awards from the Mexican government for its success stories (children becoming engineers, pastors, veterinarians and more) and Josefina was nominated as woman of the year and even had the privilege of speaking with the wife of the Mexican president. We are so thankful to God for all He has done.

The Reality
Josefina is taking care of a young boy who for the first five years of his life lived on the streets searching through garbage daily to get enought to eat. He is now safe, thriving and in school.
A smiling little girl who is now receiving food, shelter, and an education was dropped off by the police after she escaped from kidnappers, was abused and held hostage for months.

What Can You Do To Change a Life?
The annual budget is approximately $180,000 which means it takes less than $200 to meet all the needs of a child for an entire year including food, shelter, and education. Donations made through Faith Christian Family Church are tax deductible and 100% of the donations go directly to the Orphanage.
Our most significant need is FOOD! As you can appreciate 100 mouths three times a day is a great deal of food.
Presently we are looking for 360 Partners to donate $500 each to fully fund the needs of these Children.
We ask you to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider donating to Bethel Orphanage to Change A Life! Donations of any amount are gratefully accepted.
To donate you can send a check to Bethel Orphanage FCFC, 3616 58th Street, Lubbock, TX 79413.
