Consumer Credit Counseling Service

Clovis has partnered with consumers like you to establish and achieve financial goals. When times get tough, we serve as an emergency room for financially fragile families - a true community safety net. It is our mission to provide help and hope for individuals and families in their greatest time of need – and in today’s recession, we’ve seen greater severity of financial crisis than anytime in our 36 years of serving the community.  We believe that counseling and education helps prevent and resolve crises while promoting a healthy economic environment. Through our programs and services, our compassionate and caring counselors provide peace of mind and action plans designed to help clients reach and maintain their financial goals.

  • Counseling: Our free budget and credit counseling is customized for each client and offers you a holistic approach to managing your finances.  When you meet with one of our trained counselors, you’ll not only develop a livable budget, but also learn positive lifestyle changes that will contribute to your overall success.  We’ll work with you to identify reasons for default or financial crisis and give you tips for paying down debt and even negotiating with creditors.
  • Education:  Become empowered and educated by attending one of our more than 40 classes on everything from basic budgeting skills, home ownership and understanding credit reports to the financial impact of marriage and having a baby, and surviving financial crisis. Our free consumer education is available to individuals, schools, churches, civic groups and employers. Visit www.cccs.net to find a schedule of classes and register online, www.cccs.net/webinars to see our list of free live educational webinars, or call to book a class for your organization.
  • Housing:   If you’re facing a housing crisis, we’ll help you identify every possible option for finding a more affordable solution. In addition to foreclosure counseling, we help first-time homebuyers through the maze of purchasing their first home, and seniors understand the specifics of reverse mortgages. As a HUD-approved housing agency, it is our mission to keep families together and find housing solutions that are sensitive to each individual.
  • Debt Management:  A debt management plan (DMP) with CCCS is not a debt consolidation loan, but instead a program that helps you reduce debt and bring your accounts current with manageable monthly payments. A DMP offers lowered interest rates, elimination of late and over-the-limit fees, and lower payments so you can become debt free in three to five years.
  • Bankruptcy:  If your financial situation has forced you to file bankruptcy, CCCS offers the pre-filing counseling and pre-discharge education required by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act. The law requires consumers to receive credit counseling within 180 days of filing bankruptcy and education before debts can be discharged. CCCS offers these services to help you emerge a stronger consumer after bankruptcy.

We look forward to serving you at our new office on the first floor of the Matt 25 Hope Center.  We hope you will share our mission and support our commitment to improve financial literacy, but more than anything, we hope you will recommend CCCS to those who need our help the most, so together we can achieve financial freedom.
