Why LIVE UNITED? Because together we’re Advancing the COMMON GOOD through
EDUCATION, INCOME AND HEALTH
EDUCATION -HELPING CHILDREN AND YOUTH ACHIEVE THEIR POTENTIAL THROUGH EDUCATION
Because hungry children are not prepared to learn, United Way supports the Food for Kids Backpack program.
Because teens who are involved and who have a support network are more likely to succeed in school, United Way started the Zenith Youth Leadership Academy.
INCOME -HELPING FAMILIES BECOME FINANCIALLY STABLE AND INDEPENDENT
Because people in need can miss out on services that could help them, United Way offers 2-1-1 an easy to remember phone number to connect people to the help they need.
Because some families have no cooling system for the summer and others have no heat in the winter, United Way and Matt 25 gave out over 80 fans and 14 heaters.
HEALTH -IMPROVING PEOPLE’S HEALTH
Because families without prescription coverage often choose to pay the rent over buying expensive medicine, United Way hands out hundreds of Prescription Discount Cards every year.
Because women make some of the most important decisions affecting their family’s health, United Way hosts an annual day of informative health and wellness seminars.
